wild blueberry smoothie

This delicious tasting smoothie blends fruits with celery and sprouts to give you a smooth antioxidant-rich drink that you will love so much you will want to make it and drink it every day!

Which is great because if you are a fan of Anthony Williams (Medical Medium) you will find he uses an option of this smoothie in his books: Liver Rescue & Cleanse to Heal  to remove heavy metals and support the liver to heal.

Drink it or use it as the base to a Smoothie Bowl

If you want to make this recipe as a drinkable smoothie, use fresh banana & mango and add ½ cup of water (as indicated below).

If you want to use it as a base for a gorgeous smoothie bowl which is topped with seasonal fruit, use frozen banana & mango instead and omit the ½ cup of water.

Gotta go Wild for Blueberries

Frozen Wild Blueberries are an important part of this recipe. You can usually find them in the freezer section at any good organic/health shop. Wild Blueberries are different from their larger and fresh Blueberry Cousin in that they are ‘tiny’ and contain 33% more brain-healthy anthocyanins than ordinary blueberries. And, being frozen at the source means all of the nutritional goodness is ‘locked-in’ and not lost in transit!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 mango (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup wild blueberries (frozen)
  • 1 celery stalk
  • ½ cup sprouts
  • ½ lime

Blended with Kuvings SV500 Vacuum Blender

Step 1: Gather your ingredients and place them into the blender as follows:

  • Pour in ½ cup of filtered water
  • Slice (or tear) the bananas into small chunks
  • Drop the mango cheeks in
  • Tip in ½ cup wild blueberries
  • Cut your celery stalk into 5cm pieces
  • Measure out ½ cup sprouts and tip in
  • Add ½ lime

*Note: if you are using frozen fruit, place directly in without cutting.

Step 2: Blend all together in your Kuvings Vacuum Blender

  • Place the lid on the jug and the noise-reduction cover on
  • Touch ‘power on’ button
  • Select vacuum blend or auto blend button
  • Let the Blender do its thing.

Enjoy!
