Lean Green – Weight Loss Juice Recipe
If you are carrying afew extra kilos, or two, then this juice is for you. Instead of that afternoon snack grab this juice from the fridge and you will be refreshed, hydrated and lean before you know it.
There is a perfect balance of fruity, herby, green flavour in this juice that will surprise you even if you don’t like green juices.
- 1/2 honeydew melon
- 3 apples (green)
- 1 cucumber
- 1 parsley handful
Juicing Time: 3 mins
Juice Qty: 800ml
- Remove the outer skin
- Cut into pieces (seeds can be put through the juicer)
- Remove the stems and remove any stickers
- Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.
- Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute.
- Cut in chunks to fit down the chute
- Juice with skin on
- Roughly chop leaves and stems
- Juice handfuls at a time
It is best to start making this juice with the parsley because the other ingredients will help push the herb onto the press and extract more parsley juice. Just pop the entire handful into the wide chute and use the pusher if needed.
Next add the cucumber chunks one at a time letting each chunk press through the juicer.
Now add the honeydew melon. Similar to the cucumber pop them in the chute and let the juicer press them through.
Finish making the juice with the apples. Drop them in the chute whole if they fit and let the machine press each one before adding the next.
Tip: a ripe honeydew melon will be slightly soft and springy, and it will smell fresh and faintly sweet. You will also feel fine ridges in the skin, whereas less ripe melons will have smoother skin.
