Green Juice with Kuvings Cold Press Juicer

A typical green juice is made from the fresh juices of leafy green vegetables. There’s no official green juice recipe, but common ingredients include celery, kale, spinach, cucumber, parsley, and mint.

Given that green juice tends to taste a bit bitter, most recipes add small quantities of fruit — which may or may not be green — to sweeten it and improve its overall taste.

Making Green Juice

Fast spinning juicers (centrifugal machines) can waste a lot of green produce. The metal blades are spinning so fast that the lightweight of the greens can get flung out into the pulp bucket leaving you with very little juice extracted from the produce.

Blenders make a smoothie, this is not a juice. Smoothies are a great meal replacement but they do have to be digested to eliminate the cellulose fibre (pulp) from the greens as they are not digestible which takes time and energy.   • Wash and rinse the greens
  • Roughly chop
  • Add handfuls at a time
