A great medicinal latte. Sometimes called Golden Mushroom Latte, it’s nutritionally rich and packed with powerful immune boosting and antioxidant effects. Mushrooms are wonderful adaptogens, which means they help us to adapt with change.

You can use any of the medicinal mushrooms (reishi, lions mane, shitake or chaga) you will find them in most good health food shops in powder form. We have used Chaga in this recipe.

Ingredients: Serve 2

  • 1/3 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp ginger (finely grated)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 400ml Chaga Tea mix (1/4 tsp of your favourite mushroom mixed with 400ml hot water)

Method

Step 1. Combine 1/3 cup hemp seeds + 1/4 cup water and auto-blend until you have a hemp milk. Alternatively, you can use any plant-based milk in this step.

Step 2. Add the rest of your ingredients to your hemp milk and auto-blend until done.

Step 3. Divide between two cups, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.

To serve hot – warm on the stove in a small saucepan if you want it super hot.

To serve iced – add a couple of ice cubes to the blender when you mix it for an ice cold version.
