What's the BEST juicer

for Celery?

Won’t any old juicer do?

Well, yes….and NO.

Of course, you can use any juicer to juice celery. But, the difference between a good quality juicer and a nasty cheap juicer is worth knowing.

For starters, you won’t get as much juice.

Nor will a cheap and nasty juicer be easy to clean.

And, chances are you probably won’t enjoy the taste of the juice out of an inferior juice machine.

So, for my mind and money, it’s critical that you understand the difference between ‘any old juicer’ and a good quality cold press juicer.

“When a juicer generates too much heat in the juicing process it oxidizes the celery and diminishes its nutrient value more quickly.”

– Anthony William, The Medical Medium

Let’s take a look at ‘any old juicing’

Often when people think about a juicer, their mind immediately thinks about the fast spinning, centrifugal juicers that create a frothy drink in no time at all.

Chances are, you’ve even had one of these juices from a key juice chain. You know the ones, they have a distinct sound (a bit like a jet engine), they carve through the fruit and veg almost instantly and they produce a frothy and often colourless juice.

These are centrifugal juicers. They use metal blades to rip and tear the produce and spin anywhere between 3,000 to 16,000 Revs Per Minute (RPM).

Your produce whizzes around the bowl at a rapid rate oxidising and destroying vital nutrients and heat sensitive vitamins and minerals.

And, the other thing that happens is you end up with a whole lot of froth on top of your drink because oxygen has been pulled into the juice because of how fast the blades spin.

If you are wanting to drink Celery Juice every single day as part of maintaining excellent health, then a fast spinning/centrifugal juicer that rips and tears your celery apart – simply won’t do!

Centrifugal Juice versus Cold Press Juice

Let’s take a look at cold press/slow juicing…

If you want the very best juice, then a juicer that presses and squeezes your produce is what to look for. These juicers are often referred to as masticating, slow or cold press juicers.

What that means is, they operate very differently than a fast, centrifugal juice machine.

A cold press/slow juicer spins at 45-52 Rev’s Per Minute (RPM), about the same pace as we chew food. They have a press (sometimes called a screw/auger) that presses the produce against a metal sieve to extract the juice.

Because of this slow pressing process, there is no oxidation or nutrient loss. And, you will get the maximum amount of juice from your produce, leaving behind very dry pulp.

The other thing you will notice straight away is the difference in colour. Juice that is made in a cold press juice machine is vibrant, almost fluorescent. And, juice can be stored in glass bottles in the fridge for 3 days without loss of nutrients or colour.

And, finally the most important difference is that juice made in a cold press juicer tastes the best!

If you are wanting to drink Celery Juice every single day as part of maintaining excellent health, then a cold press/slow juicer is a MUST!

Celery Juice

Celery Juice – what’s the benefit?

In history, celery has a long and prestigious use. First as a medicine and then later as a food.

The initial mention of using celery as a medicinal herb (yes, it is a herb) dates back to the 9th century B.C. when celery leaves made an appearance in the Odyssey, the famous epic by the Greek poet, Homer.

While most people associate celery with its prized stalks, the leaves, roots and seeds can also be used as a food and seasoning as well as a natural medicinal remedy.

“Because celery juice, when consumed in the right way, is a powerful and miraculous healing remedy and people are noticing the benefits it provides, such as clearer skin, improved digestion, less bloating, sustained energy, better mental clarity, weight loss, and stable moods, just to name a few.

People are healing from all kinds of acute and chronic illnesses, including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, eczema, psoriasis, acne, SIBO, constipation, chronic fatigue syndrome, blood sugar issues, migraines, acid reflux, high blood pressure, addictions, adrenal issues, gout, allergies, autoimmune conditions, and countless others, from drinking plain celery juice daily.”

Celery Juice is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory

Celery Juice is an important food source of antioxidants, including vitamin C, beta-carotene, and manganese.

But its a category of phytonutrients (sample list below) that have been shown to provide anti-inflammatory benefits.

Phenolic acids

  • caffeic acid
  • caffeolyquinic acid
  • cinnamic acid
  • coumaric acid
  • ferulic acid

Flavonols

  • quercetin
  • kaempferol

Furanocoumarins

  • bergapten
  • psoralen

Dihydrostilbenoids

  • lunularin

Phytosterols

  • beta-sitosterol

Flavones

  • apigenin
  • luteolin

Celery Juice supports the Digestive Tract

The pectin-based polysaccharides found in celery (including apiuman) appear to have special importance in producing anti-inflammatory benefits and digestive tract support.

Celery Juice helps Cardiovascular

Phenolic substances found in celery, called phthalides, are a major contributor to the unique flavour of this herb.

Researchers have demonstrated that celery phthalides can act as smooth muscle relaxants, most likely through their impact on the flow of calcium and potassium inside cells and related nervous system activity involved with muscle relaxation.

Similarly, Pthalides serve to relax the muscles of the arteries that regulate blood pressure. The Pthalides also reduce stress hormones, one of whose effects is to cause blood vessels to constrict.

Drink celery juice on an empty stomach at least once a day for best results – as recommended by Anthony William, the Medical Medium.

Celery Juice is useful for Alcoholism

The juice of raw celery has also been found useful in alcoholism. It is a neutralizer to alcohol so it has a sobering effect on the person. Half a glass of celery juice mixed with an equal quantity of water should be taken once daily for a month.

Celery Juice a great Cleanser & Detoxer

The reason celery is such a great cleanser is because it contains a nutrient compound called coumarins.

Coumarins stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage increased circulation of lymphatic fluid. The lymphatic system is essentially the filtration system for the body (sending waste and toxins to the liver and kidneys for removal).

Stimulating the lymph system to work as efficiently as possible, enhances the rate at which toxins are removed from the skin. The result is healthier, brighter skin.

Other benefits of Coumarins are to enhance the activity of certain white blood cells and also help tone the vascular system.
