Description

The smell and the taste of this juice is so good its like sitting behind the glass in the autumn sun. Of course autumn is the dry season and it is a great time to add more juice to your day especially the fruits in this juice.

Passion fruits contain many phytonutrients such as harmine, harman, harmol, harmalin, carotenoids, vitexin, isovitexin, chrysin, scopoletin, carotenoids, and theobromine. Evidence of the health benefits these nutrients give us is growing every day and it is worth bearing in mind that what you see here is just a very small amount of those we even know about yet.

Pears come into season during Autumn and help add some much need moisture to our dry lungs from the summers heat.

Pears also promote cardiovascular and colon health preventing constipation and ensuring regularity from the pear’s dietary fiber. The yes the dietary fiber is still in the juice.

Ingredients

  • 3 passion fruits
  • 3 oranges
  • 2 pears
  • 1 red apple

Preparation

Passion fruits (1 min)

  • Cut the fruits in half
  • Scoop out the flesh and seeds in to a bowl using a spoon

Oranges (1 min)

  • Remove the orange skin leaving as much white pith as possible
  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute

Pears (10 sec)

  • Remove the hard wooden stems
  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute

Apple (5 sec)

  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers
  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute
Autum Sun preparation

Method

I like to start with the passion fruits as they will add lots of flavour to the juice when put through first.

Begin to scoop some of the seeds and flesh into the chute. Go slow here as you don’t what to add all the seeds at once.

Next add the oranges whole followed by the pears.

Let the machine run a little to allow all the orange and pear flesh to push through the juicer.

Finally finish the juice with one red apple to push all the flavours of the other ingredients through the juicer.

Juicing Time: 1:30 min

Juice Qty: 750ml

Tip: If the pears are really soft, juice one pear then one orange and repeat. Try to get firmer pears, they give more juice and are easier to press.
