Apple A Day – Breakfast Juice Recipe

Look at the colour in this juice!!!

Such a deep red from all the apples and beetroot. Its a great morning juice with lots of natural sweetness to get you going. If you like ginger put a little extra in because it goes really well with apples.

The old saying “An Apple A Day keeps the Doctor Away” well imagine what having more than one could do!

Apples are the Queen of all foods. The protect and heal every body system. The malic acid and pectin binds with aluminum to act as a heavy metal detox which is implicated in memory loss and dementia.

Apple are also good for:
• Blocking diarrhea
• Cushions joints
• Improves lung capacity
• Prevents constipation
• Protect your heart
• Slows aging process

Since the skins are also most exposed to the outside world, we always recommend the purchase of organically-grown apples to minimize the apple skin’s exposure to unwanted pesticide sprays and other potential contaminants.

The beetroot, lemon and ginger will stop the apples going brown and help keep it fresh in the fridge for 3 days.

  • 9 red apples
  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 ginger (2cm piece)

Juicing Time: 2 mins 

Juice Qty: 1.5 litres

Apple a Day ingredients


Apples (30 sec)

  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers
  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.
  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute.

Beetroot (30 sec)

  • Cut in half and then into quarters
  • Slice each half into thin slices to make it easier to press.
  • Juice with skin on (you can also juice the leaves and stems).

Lemon (30 sec)

  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard end points
  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon.

Ginger (15 sec)

  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece
  • Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on
Apple a day preparation


Start this juice with the beetroot to get the maximum amount of colour into the juice. Always go slow with beetroot juicing 2 or 3 slices at a time.

Next juice half the apples one by one followed by the ginger then the rest of the apples. This will help extra more ginger flavour into the apple juice.

Finish with the lemon slices.


Tip: Look for non-waxed apples or wash them in your kitchen sink filled with water and 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar to remove the wax.
